Job Objective :
The Sheet Metal Licensed Engineer installs , repairs , and replaces the sheet metal components of an aircraft , including various structural assemblies and sub -assemblies . Sheet metal mechanics perform complex structural repairs to keep aircraft up to specifications . Moreover , Sheet Metal Licensed Engineers fabricate replacement parts for aircraft as needed .

Duties and Responsibilities & ; Job Activities :
- Determine project requirements , including scope , assembly sequences , and required methods and materials , according to blueprints , and written and verbal instructions .
- Lay out of sheet metal parts using blueprints , drawings , written or verbal instructions
- Alter and existing part using blueprints , drawings , written or verbal instructions .
- Rivet and sheet metal component removal .
- Bend and form a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts .
- Drill various metals .
- Debur holes and cut lines .
- Set up for and countersinking of holes .
- Set up for and dimpling of holes .
- Set up for and install solid rivets with a rivet gun .
- Set up for and install solid rivets with a squeeze tool .
- Install blind rivets and fastener
- Use hand and power tools to trim , buff , smooth , file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance

- Ability to lift heavy materials and tools .
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints .
- Excellent math skills .  ; Preferred .
- High school diploma or equivalent .

Qualifications :
Education and Practical Experience :
- Holding valid one of the following JCAR Part 66 license Categories B 1, B 3 and A 1 as applicable to his trade .
- 1-2 Years of experience in the Sheet Metal Trade .
